Hong Kong pop sensation Alan Tam will be performing for two evenings in Genting Highlands this August. The veteran singer has come a long way since he first commenced his singing career with a band known as Wynners. Taking a bold step later to break away from the group and going solo, was a decision that catapulted him to greater heights and fame for many years to follow.
Best known for his romantic Cantopop ballads, Alan has made countless albums since his first as a solo artist in 1979. He won so many music awards that he famously decided to stop accepting them in 1988. The Hong Kong artiste has acted in many movies too, winning the Golden Horse Award for Best Actor in 1982. Turning 58 this August, Alan shows no signs of slowing down and continues to perform in sold out concerts across the region. In terms of recent achievements, last year Alan was the recipient of the CASH Hall of Fame Award for his outstanding contribution to the music industry and was elected president of the Artists’ Guild in Hong Kong.
