In conjunction with this year’s World Environment Day, Global Environment Centre in partnership with KL Performing Arts Centre will be launching a new way of looking into environment issues – through Art ! Yes, individual artists will be able to express their ideas and thoughts on the environment via the power of imagery.

This is an annual month-long art festival, celebrating the many mediums of art and its power to engage the individual and communities. The festival will also be used as a platform to support educational workshops, special screenings, talks and briefings. The festival will generate environmental awareness among the people of Kuala Lumpur and its visitors.

Date / Time	18 August 2008 (Mon) – 19 September 2008 (Fri) Every Tuesday and Thursday 6 – 8pm – Film Screenings in Indicine at KLPac 23rd August – Satellite host launch at XOAS featuring artwork by HAMIR SOIB, AHMAD SHUKRI, UMI BAIZURAH, MASNORAMLI MAHMUD, JACK TING, JANSEN CHOW 24th August – Satellite host launch at The Attic featuring artwork by LAVINIA BURCEA & TAYEB YOP 25th August – Satellite host launch at Elle Six Gallery featuring artwork by LONG THIEN SHIH 27th August – “Art Rendezvous” @ Attic, Bangsar 3 – 5pm CONDUCTED BY LAVINIA BURCEA 2nd September – Young Artist Award Opening @ Gudang 8pm 3rd September – Walk & Talk: River Appreciation Walk Followed by ‘Environmental Solutions Starts Within You’ session by GEC 8am Covers Sungai Batu which is a tributary of Sungai Klang and is found near KLPac. Come along to learn more about the state of rivers in KL. 6th September – Piano performance @ the attic 9pm 9th September – Capoeira Workshop @ the KLPac park 4 – 6pm, ACTs Art Workshop 2 – 4pm, ACTs Drama Workshop 4 – 6pm 13th September – Save the World Party @ Maison 16th September – Closing dinner and AUCTION
