Paulo Bellinati and Cristina Azuma are both highly accomplished and internationally awarded musicians in their solo careers. They bring to Malaysia for the first time a rich repertoire of Bellinati’s original compositions and arrangements, which are written over very Brazilian styles such as Maxixe, Seresta, Brazilian Waltz, Choro, Samba, Baião, Frevo, Maracatu, Jongo, and Xaxado.

Interestingly, Azuma’s background in baroque guitar blends perfectly with these popular rhythms. The two have been playing together for more than 20 years even though Cristina is based in Europe and Paulo lives in Brazil.

For this Malaysian tour, Cristina plays a nylon string classical guitar and Paulo plays a typical Brazilian serenade guitar with steel strings, made in 1935 in Rio de Janeiro
