The Actors Studio presents Brian Friel’s ‘Dancing at Lughnasa’, which will be directed by David Lim (Cock, God of Carnage). Winner of the 1991 Olivier Award and 1992 Tony Award, Dancing at Lughnasa is a bittersweet tale about a young man’s memory of growing up in a fatherless home with his unmarried mother and his four aunts in 1930’s Ireland.
The play depicts the late summer days of 1936, around the harvest festival of Lughnasa, when love seems possible for three of the sisters and the family welcomes home its elder brother, a missionary priest. However, little do they know of the harsh realities that are to befall them…
