These paintings are pieces of me, my life, my memories, my reactions, my thoughts at present. I am an expatriate wife and get to experience new things but if one is not “free of earth’s gravity” it can take its toll.

My paintings are fragmented and disjointed, sometimes chaotic and conflicted, much like my physical and mental state of being. I look around me, inside me, seeking therapy in many forms to calm and centre myself. I sometimes succeed, gaining a reprieve until another event spirals me out of vortex.

I work with oil on board with mixed media from semi-abstract to full abstraction. Colours, textures and forms, they all convey different emotions and evoke different moods, passion, warmth, disharmony, etc. Some may say that a variety of techniques express obscurity and are symbolic, suggesting the spiritual. All I can say is that I simply paint how I feel.
