Fei Yu Ching, who started his career in the late 1970s, has performed numerous theme songs for several television shows. Some of the songs were more successful than the shows themselves. His mellifluous and distinctive voice has elevated him to stardom and his top-selling hits include “Goodnight Song” (晚安曲), “A Spray of Plum Blossoms” (一剪梅) and “Ode to the Republic of China” (中华民国颂). In 2006, he collaborated with Jay Chou and recorded a popular duet titled “Far Away” (千里之外) .
