Tchaikovsky’s “Pathétique” Symphony is often seen as a cry from the heart, its premiere just days before the composer’s untimely death adding weight to that view. But, it is also a work full of great joy and spirit. Polish conductor Krzysztof Urbański will reveal its manifest glories as well as those in the charming Little Suite by his compatriot, while the “greatly gifted” German cellist, Johannes Moser, unlocks the mystery of Schumann’s enigmatic Concerto for his instrument.
