Michael is obviously capable of putting all hilarious style of jokes together and this 120-minute talk show will have fans experience his witty humor with lots of surprises.
Michael’s’ popularity extends to several countries. In Hong Kong, he became the first comedian to sell out Coliseum with more than 26,000 tickets in two days, making the event the largest stand-up comedy show in Hong Kong history. Back in 2009, he performed his inaugural talk show in Malaysia and a total of 600 tickets were grabbed up by his die-hard audiences in a month!
Michael has never been conventional. His Stand Up performances are mostly made up of observational comedy where he uses his witty humour to poke fun at the subjects of race, class and culture, often using his own life experiences as well as impersonations of different cultural accents to illustrate his act.
This upcoming talk show themed “The Last Warning” will be his second live talk show in Malaysia after his successful sell out talk show in 2009.
He said to be a standup comic, an important rule is never follow a script.
“You have to play by ear. Whatever tickles the audience, you will have to improvise and go on from there. To me, the feedback is immediate and you have to respond immediately. Making people laugh is an art that requires quite a lot of skill. It is highly challenging but satisfying.”
His performance is always sophisticated and suits both refined and popular tastes. He is the trendsetter for such form of talk show in Hong Kong.
Having acted in 28 movies, written the screenplay for 12, directed eight and produced four films, the illustrious funnyman has received several nominations for acting, directing and screenplay. In 1982, Michael won the best actor award at the first Hong Kong Film Awards (Hong Kong’s version of the Oscars) for Security Unlimited (Mo Deng Bao Biau).
