Malaysian singer song-writer Penny Tai will be back to her home country this January. Despite being active in the industry for almost a decade, no one would have thought the petite Penny to be 31 years of age. With 7 studio albums already, Penny started song-writing at the age of 17 and pens each and every single song in her albums herself. Born in Johore to a Hakka family, the platform which launched her career came from the Halo Song-writing Contest in Kuala Lumpur back in the late 90s. And in 1999, EMI Music (Taiwan) offered her a recording contract and moved her to Taiwan to pursue a career in singing and song-writing. The rest, as they say is history. Her first album, the self-titled “Penny” was released in January 2000 and with that she was hailed as the next big thing in the music industry. Her career reached a pinnacle in 2006 when she won the Best Composer award at the Golden Melody Awards for the song “Crazy Love” – the title track to her 2005 hit album.

Now Penny will be performing at the Arena of Stars this on 16th of January 2010. Be there to catch her live and be entertained by hits like How’s That, Love After, The Love That You Want and Crazy Love.
