De Azabache y Plata has resulted from years of work to adapt the rich language of flamenco, music and dance into a contemporary style. With the reference of Falla, Álbeniz and Turina ´s music, De Azabache y Plata will introduce you to a new concept of the Spanish tradition.

The music synchronization combined with the pulse of modern flamenco dance and the convergence of new sounds such us the Turkish clarinet, electric bass and middle eastern percussion, take this show beyond borders and labels.

The concert has a rich Spanish style with strong rhythms, suggestive melodies and modern elements which create a particular language containing aspects of both classical music and contemporary style.The quartet of Javier Coble with Patxi Pascual on winds, Kepa Osés on double-bass, Serguei Sapricheff on percussion and the Maria Vega’s dancing, let us participate in this new concept where tradition and modernity play together.

Javier Coble is one of the main flamenco pianists in Spain. During his career he has received several awards: Choreography Competition for Spanish Dance and Flamenco (2001 and 2003) and Special Jury Prize at the choreographic competition in La Havana (1998).

His first solo CD, De Azabache y Plata is the result from years of work to adapt the rich language of flamenco, music and dance into a contemporary style. With the reference of Falla, Álbeniz and Turina´s music, De Azabache y Plata will introduce you to a new concept of the Spanish tradition.

MARIA VEGA
She began Spanish dance and Flamenco studies in the Royal Professional Dance Conservatory in Madrid and soon after was chosen as the soloist. She completed her studies in 1996 with the highest overall grade

She has worked as guest teacher in different courses and workshops of Spanish and Flamenco Dance in New York, Detroit, Paris and Lisbon.

In 2010 she moved to New York to perform as the guest artist in the Spanish Society and to work as guest teacher of flamenco and Spanish dance.
