The 15th AsiaConstruct Conference 2009 @ Renaissance Hotel, Jalan Ampang, Kuala Lumpurposted by d_luaz
|
AsiaConstruct Conference provides a venue for information on trends in the construction economies and construction markets, as well as on the structure of the construction industry, construction industry policies, and major construction projects in the region of Asia. The first conference was held in Tokyo, Japan in 1995, and since then, the conference was held annually at locations amongst AsiaConstruct countries. Currently, there are 14 member countries in the AsiaConstruct, namely Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Mongolia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka and Vietnam.
It is Malaysia’s turn to host this year’s prestigious event, where participants from each of these member countries have been given the theme ‘Integration of the Value Chain to Enhance the Productivity and Efficiency of the Construction Industry’ within which to present their Country Report and Theme Paper.
In recognition of issues faced by the Construction Industry, such as the lack of integration in the construction value chain, additional costs incurred during the construction process and the global trend of closer integration of construction activities and cooperation among the various players in the value chain, the dimensions of structure, operations and strategies in the implementation of projects will be discussed in the light of four key considerations.
To be officiated by YB Dato’ Shaziman Abu Mansor, Minister of Works
