The Art of Flowers - June Yap Solo Exhibition @ Wisma Kebudayaan SGM, Jalan Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur

June Yap is a lady of many talents. She likes plants, flowers, nature and dance since young and has been involved in floral arrangement for more than ten years. She has won numerous awards in floral arrangement and international ballroom dance competitions. In 1999, she obtained the Trainer’s Certificate from International Floral Design School. For the past ten years, she took interest in the creative works of Chinese ink painting. She has participated in joint exhibitions with 34 international and 36 Malaysian groups, 7 of which were held for charity purposes and 1 solo photograph exhibition for charity of Pin Hwa High School. Through theses experiences, she gradually felt her third eye appearing, an instinct to see and appreciate beauty in all things on earth. In the recent two years, she has travelled to many countries and captured magnificent photographs through her lens. She can deeply feel the meaning and value of life. Being with the earth, mountains, sun, moon, stars, local cultures, customs, styles and features of various countries deepen the quality in her life, thus encouraging her to exert in the creativity of art. Currently, she is inseparable from art as she believes that life is art and art is life.

This exhibition will display about 80 pots of ‘the Art of Flowers’, with hanging and potted styles, which will be sold between RM180 to RM680. All proceeds from this art sale will be donated to SGM Culture and Education Fund and Klang Pin Hwa High School Education Fund. This is one of her ways to contribute to art, culture and education, of which we deeply appreciate. As we will be ushering the arrival of Chinese New Year (new spring) in January, these unique artistic floral arrangements will become beautiful decorations for our homes and also as New Year gift to others.
