WAO Charity Futsal Tournament 2009 @ Section 13, Petaling Jaya, Selangor

With this in mind and taking on the Futsal fever, Women’s Aid Organisation (WAO) has decided to combine sports and charity and take it to the next level.

WAO will be organizing our first ever WAO Charity Futsal Tournament in March 2009 to raise much needed funds for the WAO Refuge and Child Care Centre.

2008 has particularly been a very tough year as we were also affected by the global financial crisis. Many of our funders decided to reduce their funding towards the WAO Refuge and Child Care Centre, thus leaving us in a quandary. WAO incurred a shortfall of RM600,000 in 2008 and although we have now life line of 12 months, every effort has to be made to continue to raise funds.

WAO hopes to gather 50 Futsal teams to compete for attractive prizes. We are also opening booth space to vendors who wish to sell their products during the event. Each booth space costs RM500.00 and will consist of 2 plastic square table and 3 chairs. Vendors are also encouraged to bring their own kiosk if they wish to do so.
